More than ever, Pakistan and Afghanistan are integrated into a “system of conflicts” which transcends territorial boundaries. Whereas the Taliban insurgency is on the rise in Afghanistan, drawing strength from its Pakistani sanctuaries, Pakistan is presently bearing the brunt of an Islamist insurgency drawing its inspiration from the Afghan Islamist militia. Le jury du Grand Prix du Livre de Sciences Po a désigné Samy Cohen, directeur de recherche au CERI, comme co-lauréat du Prix 2009 pour son ouvrage « Tsahal à l'épreuve du terrorisme » paru aux éditions du Seuil. Ce prix a récemment récompensé deux autres chercheurs du CERI, Jacques Semelin en 2006 et Alain Dieckhoff en 2008.
Le CERI vient d’accueillir Anja Thomas, chercheur à la Chaire Jean Monnet de l’Université de Cologne, qui séjournera au centre jusqu’au 31 mai 2010. Le CERI reçoit également David Jacobson de l’Arizona State University (jusqu’au 12 juillet 2009), Tsilla Hershco du Begin-Sadate Center for Strategic Studies de l’Université Bar Ilan (jusqu’au 3 juillet) et Zaki Shalom de l’Institute for National Security Studies de l’Université de Tel Aviv (jusqu’au 22 août).Click here
