Former fellow (1989-1990) of the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale (IHEDN). Former research fellow with the CNRS; tenured professor at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) since 2005. Academic director of the joint Master’s in international studies between Sciences Po and IMEMO, Moscow since 2002. Vice-president of French Association of Ukrainian Studies since 2000; member of the editorial boards of Cahiers d’études sur la Méditerranée orientale et le monde turco-iranien et Hommes et migrations.
Specializes in Russian foreign policy, Ukrainian politics and East-West migrations.
