Holds degrees from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (IEP), the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales, Johns Hopkins University (Bologna Center) and Harvard University (Russian Research Center).
Has taught at the University of Paris I-Sorbonne, the University of Paris X-Nanterre, and the Ecole des Mines. Former permanent consultant with the Policy Planning Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1983-1991) and with the Strategic Affairs Department, Ministry of Defense (1992-1998).
Chairs the Observatoire de la Russie and his editor-in-chief of Les Cahiers Russie/The Russia Papers. Member of the editorial boards of Esprit, Pro et contra ( Moscow), Konstitusionnoe Obozrenie (Moscow); member of the scientific committee of the Institute of Law and Public Policy in Moscow and of the Carnegie Center in Moscow.
A political scientist and a specialist of Russia. Her research focuses on the political system, the society and questions of foreign policy in Russia.
