Holds a degree from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (IEP) and a Ph.D. in political economy from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, 1995). Lectured at Sciences Po in Paris and Bordeaux from 1998 to 2000. Member of the editorial boards of Politique africaine (1998- 2001) and Critique internationale (1998-2003). Directs the “Africas” (Les Afriques) book series published by Karthala. Co-founder and vice-president of FASOPO since 2003, she is also in charge of the research group on historical sociology of the economy at CERI.
Her comparative research in political economy focuses, from a Weberian perspective, on the political significance of economic research, based on cases from sub-Saharan Africa, the Maghreb and Europe. Member of the CERI Transversal Project “Historical Trajectories of the State”.
